Growing up in the U.S. but spending his summers in Bangladesh, Amit Ashraf has been inspired by both worlds. After graduating from NYU's TISCH Film School, Amit was drawn to Bangladesh to produce his first feature film UDHAO. The film received several awards at film festivals and released theatrically in 2013. Amit has been working in Bangladesh ever since, developing commercials, web-series and television shows. He is currently working on his next feature film PROJECT OMMI, a sci-fi set in future Bangladesh. Amit founded the production company Kazi House Productions which produces fiction, documentaries and commercials. He also founded the stop-motion animation and prop-making company Ogopogo Studios.

A science-fiction thriller set in futuristic Dhaka about a hacker and a digital artist who team up to create a virtual A.I. boy named Ommi to combat criminals of the dark-net. PROJECT OMMI is currently under production and will release 2024. It is a co-production with the U.K. and will be released globally and locally in Bangladesh.

A drama thriller about men who run away from their village families in search of a new life in the city and a bounty hunter hell-bent on finding these runaways and returning them home. UDHAO (RUNAWAY) is Amit Ashraf's first feature film. It premiered at the Goteborg International Film Festival and screened at 20 festivals, receiving 7 awards. Developed from conception to shooting to delivery within just six weeks under a very tight budget, Amit and the team produced a captivating story that will live on as one of Bangladesh's first superheroes. With a taste for episodic storytelling, Amit is excited to develop more series.

When a realtor uses virtual reality to show potential buyers the possibilities of an empty apartment, a glitch in the program causes him to see a virtual wife and family which becomes more fulfilling than his own lonely reality. Commissioned by the Bangladeshi television channel GTV, Amit delivered an exciting and emotional story within a very limited budget, proving a good sci-fi doesn't need a lot of money.

A homeless man convinces a film student to make a film about a man who lives in a walking house that is slowly falling apart. Amit Ashraf teamed up with Robert Chapman to make their thesis film while at NYU. Using a sound-stage, limited resources and whole lot of imagination, they were able to make something truly magical. Amit has come along way since then, but he is always proud of where he started from.
